The new face of retailing demands that accurate and reliable data flow between store systems and merchandising systems in the corporate data center. To accomplish that critical function the JDS Solutions Corporation has created a seamless interface between WinRetail®, our proprietary back office management system, and Tradewind®, the nationally recognized Point of Sale system. JDS and its products support TCP/IP as a communication protocol, offering batch and real time polling update methodologies. The WinRetail® communication package, WinComm™, forms the core of the system’s communication capabilities, and utilizes validation for guaranteed delivery. JDS offers its clients several options with regard to the movement of information from host to store and back to host. Options range from nightly batch processing to real time access, using either dial-up or “always on” technology, or a combination of the two when always on technology is not available!
