"Keeping the right stock level was always a problem for us. We either ran out of merchandise in the warehouse or the warehouse ran out of merchandise from our vendors. Things like vendor lead time, sales trending, min-max levels all made the process of getting goods to the right place at the right time a challenge. And then we implemented the WinRetail Auto Replenishment Module. The two components of the module, Auto-Replenishment, which regulates the flow of merchandise from our warehouses to our stores, and the Suggested Reorder component which generates suggested purchase orders that we can approve and send on to our vendors, changed our in-stock position radically. Now, as the stores sell product, the Auto Replenishment system lets our warehouse know that we need to restock the store. We can do it on a "one for one" basis, or based on criteria that we establish. As the warehouse reaches the reorder thresholds that we design, a suggested reorder is generated. We approve the order, or make changes, and send it on to our vendors. It's that simple. Now our stock to sales ratios are tighter, and our turnover is optimized."
