Surf Ride Selects JDS Solutions' WinRetail™ Enterprise System and Tradewind® Point of Sale for its California-based Operation.

CARLSBAD, California -September 19, 2003

The JDS Solutions Corporation today announced that Surf Ride, Inc., one of California's premier action sports retailers, licensed the JDS WinRetail™ Enterprise Management solution to manage the informational needs of its organization.

We always knew that, from JDS's perspective, making sure that we were satisfied was always their primary goal. It made sense to us, when the need came to upgrade our system, to again turn to JDS. Surf Ride selected JDS to manage both the back office and front-end Point of Sale operations throughout its organization. Surf Ride also selected The JDS WinRetail™ Communications Manager to control all communications between its stores and additionally contracted for The JDS Solutions Corporation's nationally acclaimed 24/7/365 Customer Support Service. Surf Ride will be installing Point of Sale cash registers manufactured by the IBM Corporation, running the nationally acclaimed Tradewind® Point of Sale software and communicating with WinRetail™, the JDS Solutions Corporation Enterprise Management System.

Surf Ride joins the constantly expanding list of entrepreneurial retail operations that have selected JDS and WinRetail™. In anticipation of the approaching Holiday Season, an extremely aggressive installation process has already begun and Surf Ride is scheduled to go live with WinRetail™ Enterprise in early October, 2003.
