The Museum of New Mexico Foundation Shops (MNMFShops) needed to address how to resize their inventories in a declining sales environment; insure they were responding to best sellers; effectively deal with slow selling merchandise and build sales through effective customer service. The MNMFShops manage over 20,000 SKUs and does business with over 2,000 vendors.

Turning once again to WinRetail's Power- Reporter, MNMFShops reviewed selling history, analyzed trends, projected sales and developed a sales and stock plan.

Utilizing Trending, Hot Item, Return to Vendor, Price Change, Class Merchandise, Price Changes as well as other reports and analytics in WinRetail, the MNMFShops determined that it needed to reduce the book department inventory by $25,000.

Concurrently, the organization identified and reordered those items that were selling well, and built additional inventory around "hot" merchandise thereby resizing its inventory for all five museums and two websites. It also discovers many items moving far too slow to restock having a negative impact on the bottom- line
