JDS Solutions Delivers Another Successful Annual Conference

March 2010 – Carlsbad, CA JDS Solutions 2010 Annual Users’ Group Conference was held at the beautiful Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa March 8-10. There were many Conference highlights including new POS and E-Commerce options, a presentation by JDS customer, Keith Reynolds from Coca-Cola stores discussing the Merchandise Advance Planning Module, a series of breakout sessions by industry and by job functions, and an in-depth look at what’s new with WinRetail®, JDS’ POS and Retail Merchandising System.
“I really enjoyed the breakout sessions and open forums,” said Cara Domian from Volcom. “Plus having one of your customers (Coca-Cola) share a tool they utilize was very informative,” said Domian.
Other Conference highlights included an open discussion on customers’ votes for new system features to be developed in 2010, and an insightful presentation on R.I.P Joe Average, by Doug Stephens, from Retail Prophet, which brought to light the unique opportunities today’s economy is presenting to independent retailers.

The JDS Users’ Group Conference is an important educational and networking opportunity for customers, and a chance for them to share what they would like to see in future releases of JDS products. The Conference was very well attended by JDS customers from North America.
“It is easier to develop what our customers need than to think up ideas ourselves, after all they use the system every day” said Dan Friedman, President. “It is flattering that year after year our customers return to the conference to share their ideas and learn from each other. Having it in San Diego also doesn’t hurt,” said Friedman.
